The Building of a Custom
Home
A photo feature
Stacks of sheetrock (also called drywall or wallboard) have been delivered. It will be installed as soon as the house passes city inspections and has been insulated.
The insulation has been installed in the walls.
The picture above shows the insulation installed in the walls and the sheetrock nailed to the ceilings.
A workman is nailing the sheet rock to the wall.
A view of the entrance with the sheet rock installed. Notice the lines in the walls where the sheets of wallboard meet. A process called "taping and floating" is performed to cover these lines before the walls are textured and painted.
The workers are taping and floating the walls...
and the ceiling (the workman is using stilts to access the ceiling easily).
This picture shows an area that has been taped and floated.
Similar to a school paper that is graded, the walls have been marked with problem spots for the workers to correct.
