The picture of the driveway above (taken from the entry) shows the reinforcement that has been added to strengthen the concrete. The white pipe across the bottom is called a "sleeve" and is placed under the driveway so that water lines for a sprinkler system can easily be installed at a later time without causing damage to the driveway.
