Grass

 

The grass is delivered.

The grass is delivered.  As you can see, there is not much grass planned for this landscape.  Grass usually requires more water than xeriscape plants; however, the grass that will be used in this landscape will be drought tolerant.  Since xeriscape plants are more expensive than grass, a landscape like this is much more costly to implement.  However, the maintenance and water requirements of a xeriscape landscape are much lower than grass once the landscape is established.

 

Once the topsoil was added to the required areas, the workers started to lay the grass and separate the grass/planting areas with steel edging. The grass used for the back yard is El Toro Zoysia, which is highly recommended for the dry climate of South Texas.

This picture shows the new grass in the front yard.  This grass is the same variety as the neighbor's and it should look the same when it is established.
